Aitareya Upanishad
Aitareya Upanishad belongs to Rig Veda and consists of five small sections. Adi Shankaracharya considers Shanti Path as an independent section and thus calls this Upanishad as Atma Shatak. Aitareya Upanishad covers two important themes viz. how this world got created and how this world continues to exist. Though these themes are discussed from philosophical and spiritual point of view they show scientific mind of the author and confirm the fact that Upanishads are not mere philosophical texts.
